About the Role

As Construction Estimator, you will help us build a world class supply chain by using your experience in accurate estimating, cost modeling, and bid management to help us fully understand all costs that go into our projects.  You will develop and manage the bidding process to ensure we have access to capable suppliers and quality materials at the best value.  This role will require curiosity, independence, and the willingness to tackle ambiguity to help develop our solution for modular high rise construction.

You Will:

  • Work closely with internal architects, designers, engineers, and project managers to develop designs, source materials, and establish criteria for supplier selection.
  • Source suppliers to drive the highest value available using technology, manufacturing capabilities, responsiveness, quality, facilities, equipment / technology, quality and experience as criteria.
  • Drive cost reductions, risk mitigation, and sustainability throughout the supply chain.
  • Manage the bidding process from supplier selection and negotiation to award ensuring a fair and comprehensive process.
    • Prepare and distribute RFIs
    • Organize bid documents for estimation
    • Perform accurate take-offs for all scopes across all trades
  • Track commodity and local/regional market dynamics as well as industry trends.
  • Review & Level quotes and estimates with Project Team and prepare recommendations.
  • Develop meaningful value engineering strategies and implement them alongside our design team.

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the construction industry with a focus on hard estimating and management of high rise projects.
  • Enterprise resource planning, construction management, estimating software, and bidding systems use a plus.
  • Preference given for experience in prefabrication and/or modular construction.
  • Experience in BIM, LEAN, and LEED are a plus

Salary Range:

$90,000 - $140,000 per year
