About the Role

As Assembly’s Cost Manager, you will play a critical role in our system evolution by establishing product cost targets, as well as developing Assembly’s internal cost feedback loop. This will involve working closely with a multidisciplinary team of designers and engineers to develop cost-optimized product solutions, and helping to build the strategies and systems that ensure seamless operations from purchasing through delivery.  You’ll also assist in developing and scaling our supplier ecosystem in a way that evolves alongside growing business and impact. 


You Will:

  • Develop a rapid cost evaluation process for product sub-assemblies.
  • Develop budgetary estimates for on-site conventional scopes of work to be carried out by our GC partners. 
  • Identify, develop, and nurture strategic supplier relations seeking constant improvements in cost and quality.  
  • Provide a bi-directional link between suppliers and AOSM technical and system design team to ensure clarity in bid documents, product scope and cost optimization solutions.  
  • Co-author the development of supplier pricing & bid packages (RFQ/RFP)
  • Chair periodic cross functional supplier assessment meetings

You Have:

  • 7+ years of construction procurement, planning, or project management 
  • Experience in cost estimating for general construction including some experience in Structural (heavy and light steel), Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing
  • Proven record of cost containment and reductions
  • Knowledge of contracting processes, negotiating, and legalities a plus
  • Experience with prefabrication with a strong supplier contact database a plus
  • A practice of turning ambiguity into clarity and aligning various perspectives behind a common strategic vision.
