About the Role:

Assembly is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help us build and maintain the infrastructure that our Data team depends on to power our unique insight capabilities in eCommerce. You will also partner with our Product engineering teams and Security Engineering to ensure that our infrastructure is built with security first principles and reliable for our customers that depend on our tools to grow their businesses. 

Responsibilities:

  • Architecting infrastructure solutions in Amazon AWS
  • Building and maintaining infrastructure as code with Terraform 
  • Building and managing production level monitoring leveraging dashboards, alarms, and logs
  • Create and own Assembly CI system 
  • Leading efforts to ensure availability, performance, scalability for infrastructure 
  • Set a high bar for operational maturity, security performance and reliability of the platform
  • Ensure uptime and performance on all systems
  • Partner with Data teams to build infrastructure supporting data pipelines
  • Assist Assembly Products with implementing infrastructure security best practices  

Skills & Qualifications:

  • You are a problem solver with strong attention to detail and excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Experience in automation tools (CircleCI, Chef, Ansible, Terraform, etc)
  • Experience in Docker or other container runtimes
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines 
  • Hands-on experience with programming and scripting languages: Shell, Python, Ruby
  • Expertise in network architecture, storage systems, virtualization technologies, and serverless frameworks
  • Interest in information security
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 3 + years of experience in a technical role
  • 3 + years of experience in Bash scripting and Python/Ruby
  • 3 + years of experience in AWS or comparable cloud platforms
