The Role

As the Director of People, you will have a direct impact on the success and growth of our organization. Your strategic leadership in developing and implementing HR initiatives will contribute to the attraction and retention of top talent, fostering a high-performance culture, and enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction. This role will be in the weeds with your team, always knowing in-depth exactly what is going on within your team and its operations. 

 

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee all HR, recruiting and people operations functions of the company
  • Implement and execute people programs across all stages of the employee life-cycle including onboarding, compensation, performance reviews, culture initiatives, benefits, diversity & inclusion, operations, and more
  • Acts as a strategic advisor/coach to company leadership
  • Design, implement, and maintain internal policies and processes with respect to current and forthcoming federal, state, and local regulation
  • Create and lead training programs to meet the needs of the team; define clear paths for professional development
  • Conduct relevant people operations analysis and make recommendations to leadership for process and policy improvements
  • Plant, nurture, and champion our culture, values, and mission in a world-class remote work environment
  • Anticipate obstacles and proactively identify and implement solutions to keep up with and stay ahead of the growth of the business
  • Develop and manage all documentation including an employee handbook, HR policies compensation agreements, compliance/tax documents, etc 
  • Support end-to-end hiring processes
  • Play a leading role in our effort to create a more diverse and inclusive workplace
  • Oversee company benefits and negotiations with third-party providers and platforms
  • Lead company performance management, including performance reviews, calibrations and continuous feedback among employees, managers, and leadership
  • Manage employee engagement survey cycles inclusive of data analysis & action planning 
  • Improve upon existing compensation and benefits plans/approaches
  • Help managers grow their ability to support and manage employees and teams
  • Manage Employee Relations serving as a trusted advisor and resource to employees and managers on HR-related matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures. Ensure fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
  • Utilize HR data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute HR strategies that support the company's overall objectives and promote a culture of high performance, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Special projects and other duties as designated by your manager or assigned designee
  • Vendor management 
  • Management of departmental budget; coordination & collaboration with accounting & finance 

 

What we're looking for: (Job Requirements/Must have) 

 

  • 8+ years experience in a People Operations/HR role
  • Experience leading people and recruiting functions at a high-growth organization
  • Experience managing a team of people and recruiting professionals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on sensitivity and consistency in message delivery
  • Experience partnering, building trust, and strong working relationships with managers and leaders.
  • Creativity and resourcefulness; the ability to solve complex problems independently with minimal to no guidance
  • Experience supporting HR functions across multiple geographies (US, Canada, Europe, India). 
  • You are approachable to all levels of employees within the organization and you are trusted
  • Experienced with compensation and benefits best practices, including leveraging data, implementing leveling, and incorporating employee stock options
  • In Depth knowledge of HRIS Operations

Proven track record of being able to influence leadership 

  • Comfortable analyzing and incorporating data across projects and communications
  • Experience Implementing DEI best practices
  • Experience managing full lifecycle recruiting
  • Excellent communication skills, including a bias for proactive communications
  • Practical knowledge of employment law and HR compliance
  • Ability to shift seamlessly between the strategic and the tactical

Our compensation philosophy: we use a market-based approach to compensation. This means we use a series of compensation tools to help us understand how companies value this role in the U.S. market based on function, level, geographic location, and positions benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. To comply with local legislation and provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Multiple factors, including geographic location, candidate experience, and expertise, determine final offer amounts and may vary from the amounts listed above. We have competitive pay bands for all other countries based on market standards.

The base salary for this role is between 150,000-175,000 USD
