Position Description

As Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading the specification, design, implementation, and test of comprehensive semiconductor solutions employing Aspinity’s AI/ML processor technology. You will be leading hardware and software teams to deliver innovative solutions into key markets including automotive, IoT, and AI/ML computing. As engineering lead, hiring, guiding, and mentoring team members is essential and one of your most important responsibilities.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of development of differentiated new technologies and products to solve customer system level problems, create value add solutions and establish Aspinity as technology leader
  • Champion a system solution mindset and collaborate with internal stakeholders to create and deliver product roadmaps that support revenue growth targets and financial objectives.
  • Create and evangelize a compelling technical vision for value-add system solutions based on differentiated products and drive internal and external alignment to that vision
  • With minimal supervision, you will be working in a cross-collaborative, fast-paced team, making positive change possible.
  • Leverage market and customer system understanding to create a semiconductor solution strategy and drive growth.
  • Collaborate with marketing to define market and system solution requirements and highlighting key semiconductor product opportunities.
  • Translate compelling system solutions and market requirements into key solution specifications.
  • Engage with ecosystem partners to develop compelling system solutions based on Aspinity technology.
  • Lead the engineering function across all market segments.
  • Lead product planning and development teams to ensure products meet critical customer specifications and timelines.


  • Skills and Experience -- Deep market knowledge and experience defining and deploying winning solutions in Edge Computing, IoT, Automotive, or ML/AI across multiple markets segments.
  • Experience with product definition, defining and developing system architecture and solutions, customer interface and winning major customer platforms is a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate, communicate and execute technology roadmaps and strategies from the ground-up.
  • Significant operating experience (10+ years) leading product engineering and system architecture functions in semiconductor, embedded, or ML/AI areas across multiple market segments.
  • Significant work experience and a proven record of defining, developing and commercializing novel and differentiated technologies and system solutions.
  • Leadership – Passionate, positive, enthusiastic, and collaborative
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership, motivational and communication skills
  • Proven record of attracting, mentoring, and retaining top industry talent and building high performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly build an in-depth technical and market understanding across a breadth of semiconductor technologies and market segments.
  • BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field of study preferred.
