Manager, Commercial Analytics

JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager, Commercial Analytics is responsible for supporting the Senior Director, Commercial Analytics in managing, administrating, and implementing the various processes, systems and tools used in analytics, data management, forecasting, and sales operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help support and maintain data, tools, and systems, as well as reporting and analytic processes used to generate business insights.
- Ensure the accuracy, quality, timeliness, cleanliness, consistency, and integrity of data by maintaining data standards for the organization.
- Provide data and analysis to support sales field alignment, targeting, call planning, incentive compensation, sample compliance, sales and field activity reporting.
- Leverage Rx, sales, patient-level, claims, managed care, and other datasets to craft insights to produce consistent overviews of team, product, and portfolio performance.
- Help support weekly reporting on overall brand performance and market trends as well as analytics that provide insightful and objective commentary.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to answer key business questions.
- Support other areas of commercial analytics including forecasting, incentive compensation, and marketing ROI.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, or Life Science discipline, and minimum of 7 years of related experience; or 5 years and a master’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires experience in bio/pharma industry in pharmaceutical sales, marketing, commercial analytics and/or sales operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proficiency in advanced Excel techniques and PowerPoint.
- Able to synthesize data from multiple sources to address complex business questions.
- Able to run basic statistical/analytic/ROI analyses, contribute to new analysis methodologies, and engage with analytics/statistical modeling experts as needed.
- Experience with pharmaceutical data sources (e.g., Iqvia, Symphony, claims, lab, and other syndicated data sources).
- Experience working with CRM applications and data systems such as Veeva, Salesforce, etc.
- Experience in managing and organizing large datasets using programming languages such as SQL, SAS, Python, etc.
- Deep experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlikview, Microstrategy, etc.
- Ability to focus on continuous process improvement.
- Proven ability to work creatively in a small company, fast-paced environment maintaining flexibility and changing priorities to meet demanding timelines.
- Highly collaborative with cross-functional teams, vendors, and external partners.
- Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities.
- Demonstrates strong, clear, simple and compelling communication skills (verbal and written).
- Works effectively within the established corporate and industry compliance guidelines.
