ICT Senior Systems Engineer
Arqit has brought together a world-leading team of pioneers in engineering, computer science and cryptography, and we now have an opportunity for an ICT Senior Systems Engineer to join the Infrastructure Operations team. We have high-spec offices in central London but there is also the opportunity to work from home.
Overview
We would like to recruit a hands-on team player who is able to adapt to all technical and support functions. You will assist in the management of the ICT service, establishing the ICT policy and product lifecycles and helping to structure and identify roles and services for the our ICT service. We are a global business and we will ask for your help in the on-call program for extended support hours (and potential 24hr onsite support) for incident management.
What you will be doing
- Defining and building the MS 365 tenant and Azure for cloud-based services.
- Supporting and building AWS
- Providing best-in-class support across all corporate infrastructure for hardware hypervisor platforms and backup strategies
- Assisting in the delivery of all ICT projects through the full life cycle.
- Operational management of patch and maintenance life cycles, both virtual and physical
- Managing all ICT projects with effective governance mechanisms (e.g. Change Control, Risk Management Reporting)
- Working closely with all stakeholders to ensure that the ICT service and projects are delivered to the highest standards.
- Proactive monitoring and management of Arqit datacentres
- Working closely with the Service desk and Architecture teams to provide cross cover and integration of support patterns.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in delivering ICT systems for both corporate and for customer-facing services within the enterprise software, telecommunications, security, space or quantum systems
- Valuable experience gained within service desk environments
- Full understanding of Office 365 and Azure stack.
- Knowledge of the project / product lifecycle
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, fast-changing environment
- Good interpersonal, influencing and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in the UK now and the ability to gain UK security clearance are both ESSENTIAL
