Job Summary:

Arizona Liver Health/Arizona Clinical Trials is looking for qualified candidates for the Staff Accountant position in Chandler. 


Title: Staff Accountant

Compensation: $55k-$70k, depending on experience

Status: On-site, Full-time, Exempt

Reports to: Accounting Manager


Essential job functions/duties

  • Prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
  • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
  • Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Maintains the general ledger.
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
  • Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
  • Assists with payroll processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
  • Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
  • Manages the purchasing and invoicing system.
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required

  • Basic understanding of general accounting principles, concepts, terminology, and best practices.
  • Understanding of healthcare industry preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Strong analytical skills including proficiency in usage of Microsoft Excel required.

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience using accounting software (QBO) preferred.
  • 340B drug pricing program experience preferred

 

Education, credentials, and/or trainings required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • Additional relevant Certifications or Continuing Education strongly preferred

 

Work environment

Office setting -- On-site in Chandler

Physical demands

  • Able to lift at least 15 lbs.
  • Able to sit for long periods (at least 50%)
  • Able to type and do computer work for long periods

Travel Requirements

  • Some interoffice travel may be required with use of company vehicle or mileage reimbursement

Must have valid documentation and authorization to work in the U.S., sponsorship or visa transfer not available for this role
