Summary/Objective:

Aris Water (AWS) I&E Technicians repair and maintain computer-controlled and wireless devices used to reduce human error and maximize operation efficiency. Other responsibilities are directly supervising contractors to ensure that our automation equipment being installed in the field is up to AWS standards and is working correctly. Technicians answer trouble calls and/or coordinating the correct contractor for the job to get the issue resolved.

Essential functions:

  • Enforce all company safety policies and contribute to a ‘Safety First’ working culture.
  • Install and service automation equipment that meets or exceeds AWS’s standards.
  • Work collaboratively with all departments to assist on automation equipment as needed.
  • Effectively communicate and work well with other coworkers.
  • Troubleshoot process instrumentation in the field. Including equipment such as digital/analog devices, radios, VFDs and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
  • Utilize software to troubleshoot various systems.
  • Ability to monitor SCADA systems or other control systems to determine potential problems with field instruments or hardware.
  • Maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of field instrumentation devices for process equipment including:
    • Flow devices
    • Pressure devices
    • Temperature devices
    • Direct and inferential level measurement devices
    • Analytical equipment and instrumentation
    • Pump control devices including soft starts and VFDs
  • Actively participate in additional training.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and efficiently.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Basic knowledge of electronic instrumentation and automation equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of oil field safety and organizational processes.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a field environment. This role works in outside weather conditions. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, cold weather, extreme heat, and vibration.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and view a computer terminal. While at the worksite the individual will be expected to walk and stand. On occasion this individual might be asked to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and/or crawl.

Position type and expected hours of work:

This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and participate in an On-Call rotation for 24/7/365 coverage of facilities. Must be able to respond to call outs within 30 minutes of notification.
