Position: Conference Producer

Location: New York City

 

Argyle Group is a provider of B2B media solutions centered around a suite of editorial and event media. Headquartered in New York City with offices in London, the group operates under four brands: Argyle Executive Forum, the Innovation Enterprise, CFO Magazine and Proformative.

We’re looking for a commercially-driven conference producer with a proven background in full-cycle event production including conception, community research, agenda development, speaker recruitment and execution. The successful candidate will be a project management rockstar capable of understanding the needs of our clients and audiences.

 

The Responsibilities:

Agenda Development

  • Collect desk research and conduct insightful delegate interviews to draft innovative programs and agendas that meet the needs of the target audience
  • Design exciting session formats to meet the needs of the desired audience
  • Ensure the production timeline is on schedule throughout the process

Speaker Recruitment and Engagement

  • Assemble a target list of hot companies (new & innovative up to blue chip) and industry-leading executive employees
  • Pitch agendas and themes to generate interest in being part of our innovative conferences and events
  • Liaise with speakers to develop and fine-tune presentations aiming to generate a quality, engaging, and memorable content session for the audience
  • Build and nurture relationships with target speakers and companies for future opportunities 

Achieve Event Revenue Targets

  • Monitor all aspects of event/summit projects as product owner and manager, including ticket and sponsorship sales, content engagement and marketing performance
  • Lead regular project status updates with channel partners, continually evaluating and adjusting project operations to improve revenue performance

Create Agendas 

  • Create compelling copy and content
  • Proactively collaborate on site with the Event Management team to ensure the conference logistics are in place and run smoothly
  • Liaise with and act as on-site contact for all speakers, as well as the conference chair, while tracking the successful flow of the event day agenda

Create Research-Driven Demand

  • Apply commercial market knowledge to content development
  • Generate new ideas and use your industry understanding and insights to identify new channels
  • Maintain knowledge with trends and current topics relevant to the target market
  • Identify high-value resources and how to best utilize these resources to ensure a successful event
  • Drive engagement with personal networking; assemble and leverage a network of business executives in the target industry to further identify and vet current topical trends, innovations, and evolutions in the sector

 

The Qualifications (Required):

  • 5+ years of experience in conference production
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, writing, marketing or related field
  • Proven ability to research and write in a way that consistently produces engaging content tailored to your audience
  • Excellent track record of meeting deadlines
  • Analytical, data-focused approach to researching the target audience
  • Exceptional communication and business etiquette skills by email, phone and in person
  • Drive to achieve at all costs, with a deadline-driven/high ownership mentality
  • Proven track record of strong time management and organizational skills
  • High appetite for change
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities on a lean team
  • Desire to travel up to 25% to hotspots such as San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Dallas and more

The Qualifications (Preferred):

  • 8+ years of experience in conference production
  • Experience with long-cycle (12 month) summits and festivals
