Main Purpose of Role


Ensure timely, accurate and consistent modelling and aggregate data capture for all Political Violence accounts, written via Syndicate 1200. 
Provide oversight of day-to-day activities of outsourcing partner in relation to capture and modelling of exposures, ensuring portfolio accuracy and completeness. 
Produce regular ‘roll-ups’ of the Political Violence exposures in conjunction with Exposure Management team. 


Key Accountabilities

•    Accurate and timely capture and modelling of Political Violence exposures
•    Ensure portfolio is complete and appropriately represented in exposure systems
•    Oversee outsourcing partner data capture, resolving queries and refining approach
•    Perform Aggregate checks and marginal impact of new accounts against portfolio metrics and tolerances
•    Maintain up-to-date process and methodology documentation 
•    Act as Liaison between Underwriting, Modelling and Exposure Management teams
•    Support Senior Exposure Analyst in production of roll-ups, committee pack and exhibits 
•    Assist in production of Event Response analysis
•    Assist in completion of regulatory returns relating to Political Violence

 

Organisational Accountabilities


Underwriting Support:

•    Perform Aggregate checks and marginal impact of account against PV metrics and tolerances
•    Support Portfolio Optimisation exercises in conjunction with Exposure Management

Modelling:

•    Ensure efficient and accurate capture of exposures across all PV perils and sub-classes
•    Oversee outsourcing partner data capture - resolving queries and refining approach
•    Maintain up-to-date process and methodology documentation 
•    Modelling of complex accounts and binding authorities
•    Run twice-weekly Terrorism blast zones in Spatial Key
•    Perform Monthly SRCC, NCBR and Aviation War roll-ups
•    Drive efficiencies in data capture and reporting processes

Exposure Management:

•    Support Senior Exposure Analyst is production of monthly exhibits 
•    Ensure exposures are captured in accordance with approved Exposure Management methodologies and principles
•    Assist in production of committee exhibits
•    Assist in completion of regulatory returns and rating agency filings in relation to Political Violence

Qualifications


•    Degree qualification desirable
•    OR proven strong mathematical, modelling or technical background

 

Technical Skills & Experience

•    Experience with SQL or any additional programming skills: Python, R etc. essential 
•    Desirable, but not essential:
•    Insurance Market experience
•    Exposure to Political Violence or Terrorism insurance
•    RMS or AIR/Verisk
•    Mapping software (e.g. GIS, Spatial Key, Power BI)
•    Strong interest in threat landscape, geopolitics and current affairs 
•    Excellent Excel skills
