Meet the team:

The Software Engineer II will develop and execute tests on software and firmware contained within a complex lidar system. Responsible for the testing, verification, and analysis of lidar software and systems. Write test plans, author scripts, and analyze collected data.

What you’ll do: 

  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test designs, plans, and test cases for lidar sensors;
  • Develop appropriate testing methodologies, setups, tools, and harnesses to support verification of lidar;
  • Perform data collection activities to support signal processing and embedded software development;
  • Interface with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams to identify systems interactions that must be considered for testing;
  • Quantify test results and analysis into cohesive verification reports; and
  • Perform regression testing activities on embedded software and firmware.           

       

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Master of Science degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field.
  • Will also accept a Bachelor of Science degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field of study together with two (2) years of experience in a related occupation.        
  • Previous work experience must have included:
    • Developing software for Lidar, Radar/GPS, or Camera sensors;
    • Using Python to collect and analyze data for testing;
    • Experience with test and verification of complex systems, including software and firmware verification;
    • Experience with relevant safety standards and related processes; and
    • Writing engineering documentation.
