We’re individuals driven by strong values to solve complex problems together. Come join us to reimagine the human journey.

Meet the team:

At Argo AI, virtual world testing is a core part of daily life and runs at a massive scale. The Virtual Test Tools (VTT) team is responsible for building the core software infrastructure that makes simulation and resimulation centric testing possible. We own the challenge of creating complex, best-in-class systems that allow stakeholders from Systems Engineering, Safety Engineering, Software Development, Test, and Verification to specify and run the test scenarios they need, plus the core software infrastructure that enables our users to test for system robustness in the presence of errors and degradations.

This position is part of the team within VTT responsible for the simulated orchestration of the various tasks such as motion planning, trajectory, and detection that run on-board the autonomous vehicle.  In this role, you will have visibility into every other engineering team and their systems as you work with those teams to integrate their systems into the virtual test infrastructure.

What you’ll do:

  • Work on a wide variety of challenging topics, from the integration of the in-car components into simulation software designed to scale on the cloud
  • Develop tools that other engineers in the company use on a daily basis to validate their code
  • Focus on the safety evaluation of the car software, which is critical for the product launch
  • Build test frameworks that validate the car software for a variety of scenarios and fault mechanisms
  • Contribute to our build/test/CI/CD system, the largest distributed system at Argo AI

  • A passion for large scale, data intensive systems, efficiency, and reliability
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals
  • Experience developing and testing multi-process, multi-threaded systems, and multi-process communication
  • Experience developing, testing or validating high-performance complex systems, preferably those that include hardware and software components
  • Strong problem-solving abilities - able to formulate solutions quickly and articulate them clearly
  • Exceptional teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment - consistently delivers excellent results and high output rates
  • Passion for software quality (unit testing and test-automation)

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with simulation: AV log services, Simulation batch processing, and simulation metrics
  • Experience in OS (Linux) kernel and/or drivers
  • Experience with an RTOS and scheduling issues
  • Experience with load balancing between CPU and GPU
  • Experience with build systems, such as Bazel, and familiarity with CI systems, such as Jenkins.
