Meet the team:

We are building a high-performance Systems & Software quality team that is excited by complex engineering challenges and is passionate about making transportation safer, more affordable and accessible for all. This team will be responsible for defining, deploying and monitoring systems & software processes in Argo’s product development organization. Additionally, this team will perform audits and assessments in support of OEM partner lifecycle processes. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Define and implement the change management and configuration management processes across the product development organization to design quality and safety into our autonomous driving and onboard platform software from the start
  • Champion identified process improvements to enhance the quality and safety of Argo AI’s configuration and change management processes
  • Support adoption of configuration and change management development tools as defined by the Systems & Software Quality team
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of development and production configuration BOMs in support of the change review board
  • Create engineering Change Requests, Orders, and Deviations for prototype construction
  • Support and validate product changes, traceability,  control and historical work product and document lifecycle
  • Definition product process lifecycle, Releases, baseline and variants
  • Manage all configuration management activities, including but not limited to: Configuration identification, configuration management planning, release management, change control, and configuration audits
  • Ensure baseline changes are tracked, and approved
  • Develop, document and audit Configuration Management entry and exit criteria for each phase in the development cycle
  • Support and lead product development wide training on various process topics
  • Work with product development engineering teams to implement systems and software processes
  • Mentor and steward teams as they author work products for the various development phases to ensure development effort and artifacts will meet quality and safety standards
  • Define applicable metrics and guidelines that will be used by product development teams to demonstrate their adherence to the recommended safety and quality processes
  • Effectively communicate and document process defects to Software Quality and Safety Managers to aid in continuous improvement efforts
  • Perform internal audits to company/program requirements and industry standards

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
  • Strong ‘figure-it-out’ mentality when given complex and ambiguous tasks, requiring decisive & pragmatic engineering. You want to have an impact and you do not wait for a process to exist in order to have this impact. If a process is there, you improve it; if it is not, you just solve things with a systematic approach
  • Flexible, adaptable mindset, open-minded: we try to solve a problem that has never been solved before. Multiple opinions exist on how to do so but nobody has the absolute truth until it is actually done: you know that and you embrace it, you are open to multiple perspectives
  • Experience with version control and change/configuration management tool(s)(i.e. Git, Gitlab, Jama, confluence, Arena, etc)
  • Systems engineering fundamentals or similar experience, ex. software engineering fundamentals with a “big picture” mindset
  • Strong engineering communication skills, especially the ability to communicate complex engineering issues to a diverse teams with different engineering backgrounds
  • Knowledge about ISO-26262, IEC-61508, and/or safety critical system design process is a plus
  • Experience applying product development processes to autonomous vehicle development is a major plus

Our Background:

Argo AI was founded in late 2016 by industry experts with extensive experience building robotic systems for commercial applications.
