The Vehicle Operations team's essential function at Argo is to safely execute the test and road operations initiatives set forth by our engineering teams. Vehicle Operations consists of a team of experts who understand Argo’s underlying vehicle technology and programs. The team then uses that information to effectively manage efforts to meet our product and performance goals. These programs will provide detailed feedback to our engineering teams on how our Self Driving System is performing.

The Vehicle Operations team is seeking someone to join our team as a Program Manager who will focus on directing work activity related to external-facing customer Pilots.  This role will be responsible for the planning, technical cross-check and plan execution of everything from lower-level tasks to organizational level projects. This role is also responsible for aiding in the continuing evolution of Vehicle Operations' planning and feedback processes and products. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also deep dive execution of technically complex projects.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage assigned customer-facing pilot programs within Vehicle Operations from their conception through to the completion of its objectives
  • Analyze pilot requirements and align them with operations capabilities
  • Create detailed design documents that outline how Fleet Operations will execute the goals of assigned Pilots
  • Strategize on future pilot requirements to adapt current processes to meet customer goals when needed
  • Work with local operations to plan and execute the daily objectives of the assigned pilot
  • Analyze pilot metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and adapt procedures accordingly
  • Become a SME on various Vehicle Operations tools, workflows and influence program and product direction related to pilots
  • Regularly meet with and coordinate workstream assignments with the Product & Software team members who contribute to customer pilot programs
  • Ensure that adherence to policy and procedures across all of Argo’s operational activities remains a focus during any pilot program
  • Monitor, measure and communicate pilot progress, potential risks & delays and team performance to program teams, executives and other sponsors. Take the lead in driving cross-office collaboration and resolving any site-related differences
  • Coordinate between Argo partnerships to ensure fleet resources are aligned with product pilot strategies
  • Work alongside training and development teams to ensure proper training materials are created to prepare both pilots and personnel for pilot success
  • Track and report key performance metrics regarding fleet utilization and output, with detailed analysis of how each is supporting Argo’s mission

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Technical degree in any field of study
  • 5 years of experience in a related field required  
  • Ability to manage and prioritize conflicting objectives
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting, implementing solutions, and documenting results
  • Strong desire to learn new skills related to technology and software
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to span a large and varied workforce
  • Proven self-starter mindset and the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented/good organizational skills
  • Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle
  • Travel up to 50%
