Meet the team:

Autonomy Production is responsible for the development and management of Argo’s simulation dataset, triaging and reporting on changes in the AVs software, and the execution of Remote Fleet Services. As the operations Manager for the Mission Control Services you will be responsible for managing a  team of people that support our fleet of autonomous vehicles.

The Remote Fleet Services pipeline consists of Remote Guidance, Remote Troubleshooting, and Ryder Support. You will be directly responsible for empowering your team to meet and exceed all operational goals as well as provide feedback on how to improve the system. 

This position requires operations to be conducted in person from our Mission Control Center.  This position will eventually expand to manage a team of up to 50+ employees with multiple direct reports under a 7x24 service coverage.  The Operations Manager will be covered under the 1st shift and requires the manager to be onsite in our Depot Center in Munich Germany.

What you’ll do: 

  • Become a subject matter expert in the Remote Guidance, Remote troubleshooting, and Map Zone management services
  • Operations manager that will Initially be the lead contributor of Remote Guidance while expanding their operational oversight and workforce management due to market growth
  • Manage the day to day operations of Mission Control Team
  • Clearly communicate feedback to Mission Control US, Fleet Operations, and Autonomy Production and other key stakeholders
  • Ensure all operational goals are met
  • Keep pace with rapid software changes
  • Design and deliver regular training and support continual development of Support Associates 
  • Support the design and testing of tooling and process improvements to allow appropriate scaling
  • As Operations Manager for a city in Germany you will be instrumental on aligning  operations with all local onsite policies as well as with Argo’s internal and global policies
  • Cultivate and maintain a healthy and diverse work culture and environment with a strong focus on safety by administering daily briefings, performing continuous education classes, administering performance reviews and leading by example
  • You will be responsible for development and implementation of policies and procedures to shape the department efforts
  • Create, manage and track ambitious department objectives to challenge the team and drive key results supporting the organization’s mission
  • Facilitate the data management process including fleet and test operations log ingest, triage analysis and new release software pushes
  • Communicates needs of department at the leadership level to illustrate areas of need and accomplishment

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in any engineering or business field of study
  • 3+ years of experience managing direct reports and a large team of individual contributors
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong data analytics and reporting
  • Experience is workforce collaboration
  • Experience managing services in the commercial space
  • Outstanding abstraction ability between day-to-day operative and decision making on executive level 
  • Detail oriented/good organizational skills
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team
  • Fluent in English and German (verbal and written)
  • Willingness to travel frequently

Nice to haves:

  • Experiences with international deployments and call centers
  • Certified in an formal process improvement methodology (Six Sigma)  
  • Software Scripting or programming experience
  • Basic understanding of self driving systems
