Meet the team:

Argo AI was founded to tackle one of the most challenging applications in computer science, robotics and artificial intelligence with self-driving vehicles. Argo AI is developing and deploying the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, machine learning and computer vision to help build safe and efficient self-driving vehicles that enable these transformations and more. As part of the expanding Safety Policy and Assurance Team, you will provide leadership and oversight of key Argo processes, while playing an important role advancing Argo’s core value of safety and safety culture.  

What you’ll do: 

  • Promote Argo’s culture of safety by leading and managing issue investigations, resolution and reporting
  • Work closely with Argo subject matter experts to ensure that issues are properly addressed, resolved, and documented
  • Provide input and investigation status to Argo’s senior leadership and the Safety and Security Committee
  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset by working with Engineering and Operations to identify and enhance Argo processes and procedures
  • Manage a fast-paced, diverse workload

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive safety and/or compliance. 10+ years preferred
  • Knowledgeable of FMVSS, SAE, ISO, and other regulatory and technical standards
  • Experience investigating and problem solving complex, technical issues
  • Experience reviewing technical information and processes, and determining compliance with applicable defined standards
  • Ability to interface with team members of varying technical backgrounds
  • Strong project management, technical writing, and communication skills
  • Effective organizational and prioritization skills
  • Able to work effectively in team settings across all levels and functions including Office of the General Counsel, Engineering, Triage, Fleet Operations, Testing and Integration, Audit & Risk Management, etc
  • Experience working and communicating with technical experts and senior management
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be able to support travel to various Argo locations

Nice to haves:

  • Proficient in Google Suite tools and Slack, preferred
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence

Our Background:

Argo AI was founded in late 2016 by industry experts with extensive experience building robotic systems for commercial applications. Our once-small team has since grown into an over 1,000-person strong company with strategic partnerships with two of the world’s leading automakers: Ford and Volkswagen.
