Meet the team:

The Jobs Platform team at Argo AI is hiring!  Jobs Platform is responsible for running tasks at extremely high scale in the cloud.  It runs simulations, vehicle log processing, mapping, analytics, and other jobs millions of times per day using tens of thousands of concurrent workers.  The development and advancement of the Argo Autonomous Vehicle depends on Jobs Platform’s ability to run these jobs quickly and reliably, and to produce results that can be used to improve the safety and performance of the AV.  Our customers are internal engineering and machine learning teams that rely on Jobs Platform to run dozens of different types of workloads.

What you’ll do: 

  • Deliver extremely high-scale services to internal stakeholders: Machine Learning, Mapping, Labeling, Search, Triage, Autonomy, and Vehicle Operations teams
  • Develop and manage backend systems built on top of PostgreSQL and Kubernetes
  • Develop infrastructure automation using Terraform to support service deployment
  • Build tooling to manage multiple Kubernetes clusters to meet scaling needs
  • Deploy web services and APIs within Kubernetes
  • Provide detailed technical documentation and training for the platform
  • Work closely with vehicle operation, autonomy integration, and development teams to identify key features to improve overall delivery of critical features to the AV
  • Hands-on development in Go, Python, and Typescript
  • Build services to provide status, generate reports, organize workloads into batches, deploy across multiple clusters, and integrate with CI/CD platforms
  • Develop monitoring, alerting, and runbooks to ensure platform stability
  • Develop new capabilities to organize and manage workload dependencies with directed graphs
  • Be extremely user-focused and work directly with your customers on the AV teams
  • Build advanced scheduling techniques to first analyze the nature of a workload and maximize compute resources
  • Employ a multi-cluster, multi-region, multi-cloud deployment strategy to optimize cost and diversify workloads for reliability

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
  • 3+ years relevant professional experience
  • Experience with scaling cloud services and building highly available services
  • Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters
  • Experience with Go and Python
  • Knowledge of relational databases, schema design, and SQL
  • Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs
  • Experience with automating tasks, being results-oriented and customer-driven

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with front-end technologies: React, Angular, Typescript
  • Experience with AWS technologies and Terraform
