Meet the team:

Our lidar team has a decade of history in delivering Geiger-mode products for other industries, and we are optimizing these technologies for automotive-oriented mass production. Our design is novel from a technical standpoint and offers performance essential to scaling the deployment of driverless cars. Within the Argo Lidar organization, our core team’s goal is to ensure that our cutting-edge technologies are also reliable, trustworthy and compliant products. We work collaboratively and cross functionally with the hardware, software, vehicle integration teams, as well as contract manufacturers and customers.

What you’ll do: 

  • Participate in system engineering activities with an emphasis on failure mode tracking and analysis
  • Work closely with a cross functional team, contract manufacturers and/or customers at various stages in development, manufacture and operation
  • Apply optical, mechanical, electrical, reliability knowledge in failure analysis
  • Perform triages on lidar hardware and software failures and deliver cohesive reports
  • Apply statistical methods to support high quality and meaningful data analysis
  • Execute verification and validation tests for fault detections
  • Debug or failure analysis to find the root cause of any malfunction on electronic components or subassemblies

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related field 
  • Proficient in statistical analysis
  • Comfortable coding in R, Python, Matlab or a similar programming language
  • Experienced in semiconductor, mechanical, optical, electrical failure modes
  • Experienced with bug tracking system (Jira or equivalent)
  • Experienced with electrical fault isolation, open/short test, electrical characterization
  • Strong desire to learn new skills related to technology and software
  • Be able to handle rapidly changing priorities
  • Excellent communication and people skills: you will be working cross functionally throughout many different teams within Argo
  • Hands-on approach to hardware setup and test, bias to action
  • Open to occasional travel to remote offices, test facilities, engineering partners, or manufacturing partners

Nice to haves:

  • Previous experience in the automotive industry
  • Previous experience with lidars, cameras, semiconductors, imaging, microscopy

Our Background:

Argo AI was founded in late 2016 by industry experts with extensive experience building robotic systems for commercial applications.
