The Position
The Operations Outage Coordinator will be responsible for tracking, planning, and managing all plant outages in the Arevon fleet. The role will be part of the Asset Management and Operations team and will report directly to the Manager, SCADA and Operations. The Operations Outage Coordinator will work closely with Scheduling Coordinators (SCs) and Operations and Maintenance providers (O&Ms) to maximize fleet performance and availability by ensuring proper management of plant outages to mitigate energy lost through both planned and unplanned outages.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
This position will manage a wide range of duties including:
- Create and document detailed processes and procedures related but not limited to:
- SC and O&M provider outage submittals.
- Coordination of plant testing and planned maintenance.
- Contingency procedures for Battery, PV, and hybrid resources in the event of unplanned outages.
- Organizational responsibility lists for SC, O&M, and Arevon.
- Update and tracking of all transmission operator (TOP) directed plant limitations and derates.
- Coordinate with SCs, O&M providers, and other Arevon teams such as Power Markets, SCADA and Operations to manage any on-going outages in real time.
- Validate all plant outage submittals in real time to ensure they are accurate, and that plant availability and production are maximized, and revenue loss is minimized.
- Assist SCs and coordinate the process of acquiring the documents necessary to register new and changing resources with the relevant independent system operator (ISO).
- Work closely with the Power Markets team to understand the revenue impact of plant outages and operational issues and prioritize resolution of issues according to their revenue impact.
- Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Manager, SCADA and Operations.
Qualifications
- 6 years’ experience in renewable energy Operations or Marketing. Or 10 years’ experience in a similar industry.
- Understanding of regulations and compliance requirements in the renewable energy industry.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical co-workers and vendors.
- Strong Understanding of outage reporting rules and requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to develop and implement operational procedures and processes.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergencies.
