The Position

Arevon is seeking a Senior Environmental Permitting Manager who will be responsible for leading and executing environmental diligence and strategic permitting processes, directing and developing strategic regulatory guidance to internal teams and financing counterparties, and providing compliance support to construction divisions and operations divisions in support of our utility-scale solar and battery storage development portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee local, state, and federal environmental survey and permitting processes for utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across the United States.
  • Lead the RFP process to select and manage external consultants, including developing scopes for quality work products and standard environmental diligence processes.
  • Organize and track tasks, deliverables, project schedules, and budgets across multiple projects and states, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Assist various Arevon teams in understanding permitting implications, mitigation negotiations, and resource studies for development, acquisition, project financing, and compliance.
  • Engage regularly with local, state, and federal regulatory authorities to facilitate successful project permitting and compliance.
  • Review technical reports such as Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, wetland and waterway delineations, habitat evaluations, and environmental management plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators and external consultants.
  • Travel up to 30% as needed for site visits and meetings with regulators and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Land Use Planning, Ecology, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental laws (e.g., ESA, NEPA, CWA) and guidelines.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental permitting and/or compliance.
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and effective in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and strong analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
