The Position

Arevon is recruiting for the position of Transmission Associate. This is an outstanding opportunity for individuals seeking an exciting, high-growth work environment in one of the most important industries of the 21st century. This position is located in Scottsdale, AZ.

Job Description

This critical hire will be part of the Arevon Interconnection team and will report to the Manager of Transmission Analytics. The successful candidate is expected to perform transmission-related analyses of energy markets across the US, have familiarity and experience with Plexos or similar software, Tara, PSSE, or similar power flow software, and other market models, and develop and maintain the market models and their data.

Responsibilities

  • Develop study cases to include appropriate interconnection generators, transmission upgrades, and outages.
  • Perform energy market forecasting and analysis, and basis studies using production cost and power flow models for projects interconnecting primarily in PJM, MISO, ERCOT, SPP, and CAISO.
  • Analyze market trends in capacity, energy, and ancillary service markets.
  • Work with Commercial and Finance teams to evaluate transmission risks.
  • Assist in preparing responses to RFPs for new tenders/bids.
  • Oversee and validate consultants’ work for production cost modeling and analysis.
  • Support the Commercial team, Project Engineers, and Project Managers through engineering design, construction, and commissioning deliverables.
  • Stay up to date on all relevant new and upcoming technologies and policies at ISOs/RTOs.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience as an Energy Market Analyst within the renewable industry, utility, or RTO/ISO.
  • Detailed knowledge of interconnection and operations at utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and transmission providers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with external and internal customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with Python and SQL coding.

Education Requirements

  • BS in Engineering, Economics, or a similar field from an accredited university.
  • Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with Plexos, Tara/PSSE, or similar software is preferred.
