The Position

Job Description

The Project Manager will ensure Arevon’s multifaceted and challenging utility-scale solar and storage projects (located across the U.S.) are completed safely, successfully, and in accordance with the contract milestones.   This includes ensuring certain project costs are managed below budget.  The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for the success of their projects.  This position can be remote with 50% travel estimated (including one week per month in Scottsdale).

The Project Manager will provide leadership and financial oversite for large and complex solar energy projects, beginning during the advanced project development stage and commencing after Commercial Operation and turn-over to Arevon’s Asset Management team.  Having oversight on multiple projects and their associated project teams, the Project Manager will be responsible for overall management, safety, scope, schedule, and KPIs for their assigned projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) firm’s project activity from Preconstruction to Commissioning.
  • Support the negotiations of key agreements.
  • Prepare and manage the lifecycle of a project schedule for Solar and Energy Storage projects.
  • Support community and off-taker relationships throughout the construction process.
  • Prepare baseline schedules and other contractual documents for approval by project teams.
  • Generate performance reports and customized status reports, identifying and reconciling discrepancies between the project schedule and the baseline schedule.
  • Develop, monitor, and update integrated project plans and schedules so that projects can be executed in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Assess impacts and risks to the critical path and near-critical activities, develop mitigation plans and report to the project team.
  • Monitor schedule deviations, variances, and assist in the developing of alternative methods for corrective action.
  • Work with Development Project Managers, contractors and project stakeholders throughout project lifecycle.
  • Manage internal relationships including but not limited to legal, finance, development, engineering and asset management.
  • Liaise with third party onsite OE/CM (Owner’s Engineer/Construction Management) firm(s)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in engineering, mathematics, business, or a similar discipline. Advanced technical or business degrees encouraged.
  • 7-10+ years of experience managing utility-scale solar construction projects (50MW or greater).
  • Capacity to comprehend complex documents and effectively communicate project risks and impacts.
  • Self-starter with strong intercultural communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Confident in presenting material to C-Suite level executives and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and associated applications including MS Project, Teams, and Power BI.
  • Certification in project management preferred (PMP).
  • Ability to learn new software as needed.
  • Ability to travel - up to 50%.
