Job Description 

Associate, Performance Engineer will be responsible for on-going performance optimization for a fleet of standalone PV, BESS and PV+BESS assets throughout the USA. The role will be part of the Operations team and will report directly to the Manager of Performance Engineering. At a high level, the this person will be responsible for:

  • Maximizing performance of assets through analytics and engineering
  • Support the implementation of monitoring software to capture project data and perform detailed analysis & reporting
  • Reviewing technical documents and acceptance test during the project handover process
  • Act as technical lead in identifying and driving performance improvement opportunities via:
    • Technical Management of Wind and Solar assets
    • Technical optimization analyses of asset portfolios
    • Develop, implement, and improve methods for detecting, reporting, and analyzing performance issues
  • Support the development of performance models for the operating projects utilizing industry standard modeling tools as well as statistical tools which will be used in evaluating ongoing project performance as well as forecasting annual production budget for each of the projects
  • Keep abreast of the latest PVsyst and performance modeling developments, develop new methods/tools as appropriate, and train team members on any new procedures.
  • Develop and support maintenance strategies to optimize performance of renewable assets and identify areas of underperformance, drive improvements and corrective actions via management of third-party contractors.
  • Work with internal maintenance engineering team in developing effective spare parts management program
  • Continuously evaluate software systems, processes, procedures and drive improvement within the performance and operational engineering teams to support Arevon’s growth.
  • Coordinating with internal and external engineering and construction teams on project substantial completion testing and verifying or running capacity tests

Experience Requirements 

  • 2-3 years of engineering experience in Renewable O&M, Performance analysis, modeling and optimization
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and/or electrical engineering experience with solar power technology is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in software languages and data analysis platforms such as VBA, Python, R, SQL etc
  • Ability to demonstrate a technical understanding of power plant systems & Strong Plant Controls Systems Knowledge.
  • Proven track record of working well within a team environment, taking ownership of processes and procedures.
  • Substantial experience with PVSYST and energy modeling experience of terrestrial photovoltaic systems is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, highly motivated and results oriented, process oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient on MS Office Productivity tools such as Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Power BI, Planner and Lists etc.
