As a Senior Lighting Artist, painting with light and shadow is second nature and your understanding of optics and the science of light empower your portfolio. Working closely with the Lighting and Surfacing Supervisor and the project Art Director you will bring to life stunning worlds that elicit emotional responses through mood with beautifully crafted lighting and atmospheres.
• 3+ years of experience as a Lighting Artist within the games industry, film or equivalent • Solid understanding of lighting fundamentals, composition and color theory • Experience with physically based rendering tools, shaders and materials • Proficiency with lighting techniques such as vertex baking, light maps and light probes • Deep understanding of multiple rendering pipelines • Understanding of HDR and HDR methodologies (HDR10, Dolby Vision) • Experience with capturing and authoring IBLs. • Experience using post-process toolsets (color/tint, bloom, camera blur, etc.) • Prior DCC package experience (Maya, Max, etc.) • Self-driven team player with a passion for supporting and enabling others • Good communication, organizational and time management
• Offline rendering experience • Photography experience as it relates to lighting • Cinematic staging and lighting • Previous multi-platform development and performance profiling experience
• Author level lighting, atmospherics, post effects and color grading • Contribute to the development of lighting techniques and processes used to achieve a product’s visual style • Collaborate with Technical Artists to ensure consistent technology and content • Work with Lighting and Surfacing Supervisor and Art Director to develop color keys and mood boards for various projects • Help develop and enforce lighting creation process and technical guidelines through documentation and communication • Advance lighting quality through pursuit and development of improved content creation methods • Continually improve skill set through actively tracking emerging lighting trends and technology, evaluating competitive products and tools • Creation of IBLs
