We are looking for a German native speaker who is passionate about games, and understands that great localization is an integral part of the player experience.
OVERVIEW
The German Localization Editor provides German Language Localization services for ArenaNet products. In this key position, you will be part of the German team and fully responsible for reviewing and testing all game content. You should be able to verify, edit, and localize all assets including patch notes, security and marketing content.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Verify and update German game content terminology in conjunction with vendors.
Make sure all game and company glossaries are up-to-date and relevant, both in terms of gaming specificities and of language quality.
Proofread/edit all text and voice over assets.
Perform emergency translations into German as needed.
Perform localization QA.
Resolve localization bugs.
Ensure the game meets our internal/external quality goals.
Handle other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Native German speaker with excellent German spelling and grammar.
Experience with computer aided translation tools and systems.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills in English.
Excellent prioritization, organizational skills.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
High attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal, problem solving and analytical abilities.
Proactive and positive approach to work.
Passion for video games (with an emphasis on RPGs).
Preferred Skills
Experience in game localization, game QA, or related work experience.
MMO player candidates will score bonus points.
Familiarity with legal text review.
