We are looking for a seasoned software developer who loves solving challenging problems and enjoys working in a collaborative environment as part of a remote team. You will work with the best talent in the industry and will always have interesting problems to solve. It is our goal to have you releasing code to our production environments within the first two weeks.

About the Role:

The specific role we are looking to fill is on our network appliance team. You will be a part of the team responsible for looking after the ever-growing number of network appliances we have in the field. Notable challenges include managing and monitoring the network appliance population at scale, keeping the network appliances performant at all time and optimizing software to get the most we can out of our hardware.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Write well organized, testable, and high performing code.
  • Work with the architecture group to help set the technical direction for the team.
  • Write clear and concise documentation.
  • Identify and implement optimizations that help us, or our network appliances operate more efficiently.
  • Meet regularly with the team to review progress and share technical issues.
  • Collaborate with other team members and external stakeholders.
  • Implement bug-fixes and contribute to on-going product maintenance.
  • Improve the resiliency of our test infrastructure and introduce new tests where appropriate.
  • Contribute to virtualization of our infrastructure.


About You:

  • You have 7+ years of experience writing production quality python or golang code.
  • You have 5+ years of experience writing code that runs natively on Linux.
  • You are someone who enjoys writing code and solving interesting problems every day.
  • You have working knowledge of GitHub, Jenkins, and automated test tools.
  • You are comfortable with using Linux tools to troubleshoot and identify system level problems.
  • You take pride in your work and are motived by using test driven development.
  • You have a proven track record of rapidly learning a new technology or a programming language.
  • You have working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and protocols or experience with network appliances.
  • You have experience working with Docker containers.


Bonus Points:

  • Experience with development in AWS.
  • Experience with performance testing of hardware.
  • Experience with test frameworks and automated testing in general.
  • Experience with virtualization of computer hardware.
