This position will start temporarily working from home; with the expectation when our Waterloo, ON office opens it will be a regular office-based position; or Eden Prairie, MN, USA office which is currently open.

About the Role:

Under general direction from Accounts Payable Manager, the Accounts Payable Accountant will assist with bill processing, vendor payments, as well as reviewing employee expenses and company corporate credit cards, while ensuring the correct coding. This position requires an extremely detail-oriented person with an understanding of Accounts Payable/Procure-to-Pay cycles, including some knowledge of state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

· Review invoices for appropriate supporting documentation, verify vendor contact information, payment terms, banking details and confirm the delivery of goods and services

· Review expense coding and process invoices in the accounting software NetSuite

· Process employee reimbursement expense reports with concurrent audit against P2P policy and spending limits, as well as verify supporting receipts

· Obtain approval for invoices and expense reports prior to payment

· Prepare weekly AP invoices and employee expense reports payment runs

· Setup ACH and Wire payments in various banking platforms, apply payments in the bank against processed invoices and expense reports in the ERP system

· Help with the setup of new vendors, ACH banking information, and 1099 form maintenance and year-end reporting

· Respond to all vendor inquiries; work with Procurement team and vendors to research, reconcile and resolve discrepancies on vendor accounts

· Analyze AP Aging report on a monthly basis to clear Aged AP invoices

· Collaborate with the Procurement team to maintain Vendor Master Records, assist with the implementation of the new Procure-to-Pay system

· Assist in month-end close process, credit card activity coding, expense accruals and overall search for unrecorded liabilities; prepare month-end reconciliations of AP and other relevant accounts

· Support periodic internal/ external audits of various AP areas and prepare PBCs and other supporting schedules for the external auditors

· Assist with other ad-hoc projects as needed

Required Skills and Experience:

· 5-7 years of solid AP/ P2P experience, GL experience is a plus

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting degree or equivalent training and education

· Strong communication and collaboration skills

· Ability to work independently with minimal guidance

· Strong integrity and respect for others

· Strong process and time management skills

· Detail-oriented, deadline-driven attitude
