Archer is an aerospace company based in Palo Alto, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 60 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

What You’ll Do
Lead the technical cell development for both prototype and certified aircraft
Set up testing facility with cyclers, glove boxes, and fume hoods for cell development
Develop international cell and battery vendor supply chains
Create algorithms used for predicting cell performance and health
Develop cell models and test them
Support cell and battery manufacturing with cell teardowns and root cause analysis
Develop cell requirements coordinate collaborate with our multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop world class battery systems
What You Need
5+ years of experience in battery industry / cell development field
M.S. or PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering or mechanical engineering
Deep understanding of lithium-ion battery electrochemistry and materials
Knowledge or experience with novel battery technologies
Experience setting up and running cell cyclers like Maccor, Arbin, Neware, etc.
Battery/cell teardown and failure analysis experience
Knowledge of battery cell manufacturing and quality control
Experience with MATLAB and Python
Experience managing hundreds of cell test channels
Direct experience working internationally
Experience working with technicians
Passion for aviation and eVTOLs
