Archer is an aerospace company based in Palo Alto, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 60 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

What you’ll do:
Lead the development of the high-volume Electric Motor and Inverter production system, including the overall layout of the production cells and new manufacturing facility
Apply expert level knowledge of electric motors, inverters and manufacturing process to collaborate and influence our multidisciplinary Product Design Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Facilities teams in the development of a new Electric Motor and Inverter for an eVTOL aircraft
Drive the Design for Manufacturability efforts with the product design team
Develop the manufacturing Build Plan (line layout, manufacturing methods, part flow, tools, equipment, precedence network, etc.) and determine an appropriate MBOM
Implement process control parameters and strategies to ensure process capability
Lead the development of work instructions for Motor and Inverter assembly and installation
Develop specification for tooling and automation equipment
Develop efficient manufacturing processes
Oversee Final Acceptance Testing of manufacturing equipment
Conduct process failure mode and analysis (PFMEA) for the Battery production system
Support supply chain development and procurement
Support first unit builds and testing of the production system
What you need:
7+ years work experience in Manufacturing Engineering and B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
Demonstrated hands-on assembly of complex electric motor and inverter systems at high rates
Demonstrated experience in statistical process control and GD&T
Experience developing production lines from prototype to mass production
Strong organizational skills
Experience with CAD, PLM, MES, and ERP software
Experience with high voltage systems: cars, aircraft, etc.
