Archer is an aerospace company based in Palo Alto, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 60 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

What You’ll Do
Lead a cross-functional team through the development, qualification, and certification of the aircraft seating for our eVTOL vehicle
Work with supplier to execute seat development per Program Schedule and weight targets
Develop and execute lab, ground, and flight test plans to show seating solution compliance.
Apply knowledge of FAA regulations and industry standards to execute certification of seating.
Work with System Engineering to verify and validate seating solution per ARP4754
Work with manufacturing to establish build and training plan for seat installation and removal and seat maintenance
Prepare and present seating status to program leadership team and support Design demonstrations and FAA meetings as required
What You Need
4-year degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or other relevant engineering discipline.
9 or more years of engineering experience required. Experience in general aviation seats preferred.
Understanding of Part 23, Part 27, ARP4754, and SAE AIR/ARP documentation
Familiarity with flammability, seat dynamic testing, and FAA certification.
Working knowledge of aircraft interior materials and manufacturing processes.
Working knowledge of passenger comfort and ergonomics desired.
Ability to translate aesthetic industrial design vision into cost-effective, producible interior products.
Proven experience with the aerospace development cycle from requirements development through production support
Working knowledge of CAD, PDM/PLM, and collaboration tools.
Ability to communicate technical and program knowledge in a clear, understandable manner.
