Archer is an aerospace company based in Palo Alto, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 60 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

What You’ll Do
Build, mentor and inspire a world class team with expertise in the full life cycle development of avionics and fly-by-wire systems
Coordinate system engineering activities across integrated product teams developing pilot displays and controls, communication, navigation, surveillance and other subsystems
Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary teams to design complex hardware/software systems
Collaborate with the systems engineering and product life cycle engineering teams to define and document streamlined processes supporting the certification of safety critical systems complying with ARP4754A and ARP4761
Propose and manage budgets and resources for the team, define roadmaps and schedules, organize and prioritize the work, track and communicate progress
Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI), continuously monitor and improve our processes to ensure compliance, and increase safety and efficiency
Establish strong partnerships with suppliers
Foster team collaboration, promote and support personal development
What You Need
10+ years of experience in a related field
2+ year experience as a hiring manager
Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field
Hands on experience developing architectures, item designs and requirements for complex safety critical systems involving hardware and software
Deep understanding of Systems Engineering principles, including mastery of ARP4754A
Broad knowledge of avionics, including Fly-by-Wire systems, Flight Management Systems, Autopilots, Communication and Surveillance, etc
Strong background using Polarion, DOORS or similar requirements management tools
Excellent technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
Degree in engineering management, technical management, or business administration
Experience with Model Based System Engineering (SysML/UML)
Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies
