Archer is an aerospace company based in Palo Alto, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 60 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

What you’ll do:
Lead day-to-day operations of the accounting team; general ledger, cost accounting and financial reporting
Plan and direct all accounting activities across the organization, to ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC regulations, SOX, statutory guidelines, and internal financial policies and procedures
Work closely with internal and external technical accounting advisors and external auditors to meet all financial reporting requirements
Continually evaluate and optimize month-end close processes, striving to deliver process automation, improved accuracy and higher customer service
Implement technology and systems to build scalable/sustainable processes to create efficiencies, streamline accounting operations and improve employee experience
Develop/enhance, implement and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures that will improve the overall operation and reduce risks of the business
Support the executive team in driving best practices across the Company related to corporate governance, ethical standards and sustainable business practices
Manage annual audit and quarterly reviews of external auditors
Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
Provide leadership with a commitment to recruiting, orienting, training and mentoring
Establish strong relationships with inter-departmental peers and be the “go to” accounting source in the Company
What you need:
15+ years of relevant experience required, including accounting leadership capacity at a public manufacturing company
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration a plus; CPA required
Start-up experience a plus
Experience with ERP and other enterprise software implementations
Strong understanding and proficiency of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting
Must be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize critical deadlines
High degree of initiative, exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills and commitment to a high level of accuracy
