How You’ll Make a Difference

As a payroll manager, your mission is to ensure our team gets paid accurately and on time. Your keen attention to detail and ability to execute flawlessly when tackling payroll, team stock transactions, and other critical tasks will have a major impact on our ability to run our business successfully and get our potentially life-saving therapy to patients who need it most.

The “Fine Print” – What You’ll Do

Own the preparation and processing of semi-monthly payroll via ADP for team members based in California, Maryland, and other states. Maintain accurate records in accordance with SOX requirements.
Process and submit employee stock transactions subject to gains and related tax withholding through ADP.
Prepare payroll reconciliations, payroll journal entries, and payroll related financial reports for accounting and auditing purposes.
Performs timely updates of tax rates, responds to agency tax notices, research and coordinate tax jurisdictional registration and updates.
Oversees system upgrades and enhancements.
Other ad-hoc projects which may include assistance with processing invoices through accounts payable.

Skills and Experience We Look For

Our ideal candidate has 3 – 5+ years of direct payroll processing experience, including at least 1 year of direct experience using ADP. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate they have the skills and experience to excel in the role, such as a working knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll practices, some experience with employee stock transactions, knowledge of local, state, and federal payroll tax laws and regulations, and excellent organizational, project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $150,000 per year. Where a candidate falls within that range is determined by factors such as years of experience and location. Our compensation package also includes an annual bonus based on company goals and an equity (RSU) grant. We do offer relocation assistance for roles if required.
