Position Overview:  

Aptos is looking for creative and passionate people to join the Technical Writing team to develop and maintain customer-facing content that serves a growing community of retailers, partners and developers. 

Role & Responsibilities: 

  • Write product documentation targeted towards end users, including new feature overviews, configuration instructions and user guides 
  • Research and assemble information about how to use our software into comprehensive and concise topics  
  • Work with product engineering teams to learn about new product features, ensure technical accuracy in your writing. 
  • Define documentation requirements for new topics through collaboration with Product Managers, Product Owners, Engineers, Business Analysts, and Architects 
  • Understand the delivery schedule and ensure the relevant product documentation is completed and ready for publishing by the release date. 

Qualifications:  

  • 4+ years of technical writing experience 
  • Degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, or Journalism 
  • Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail 
  • Experience producing software documentation 
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matters 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Ability to clearly explain complex technologies or processes to a target audience. 
  • Learn and apply complex technologies and concepts quickly 
  • Skill with interviewing subject matter experts to understand and document complex technologies and systems 

 
Preferred Skills & Attributes:  

  • Experience in retail order management and omnichannel workflows 
  • Prior experience in business analysis  
  • Previous experience working in an agile software development environment 
  • Experience with Atlassian tools, Confluence and Jira  
  • Familiarity with MadCap Flare and authoring in HTML and XML 
  • Knowledge of Bitbucket and Git 
  • Familiarity with VMWare or other virtual environments for testing and validation

We offer a competitive total rewards package including a base salary determined based on the role, experience, skill set, and location.
