Aptos is seeking a Principal Business Analyst (Product). Hybrid model - Alpharetta office.  

This Principal Product owner will work closely with other Product team members, business stakeholders, and customers to both understand and contribute to the overall product strategy, as well as convert the product vision and roadmap into highly detailed user stories utilized by the Scrum Team during their engineering efforts in order to achieve target business outcomes.

This person will be the product expert and should understand the data platform product at a 360-degree level to ensure proper expectations are set with customers and development teams.

This person is likely an accomplished product thinker with a high capacity for building new data solutions and offers deep experience leveraging design-centered thinking to drive the development of experiences used by a variety of people. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Convert product vision and strategy defined by Product Management into highly detailed requirements that will be utilized by the Scrum Team during their engineering efforts. 
  • Prioritize and manage product backlog items to determine what needs to be built, and when, in order to deliver the maximum business value and deliver on customer commitments.
  • Lead detailed requirements gathering efforts on features as needed — consulting with product management, design, engineering, other business stakeholders, and customers.
  • Create detailed user stories for features with defined acceptance criteria that may be broken down to fit into a single sprint.
  • Lead backlog grooming to refine and estimate user stories.
  • Lead scrum meetings including stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos.
  • Ensure use cases and customer expectations align with delivered solution
  • Act as primary product “owner” and liaison between multiple departments, including design, engineering, implementations, sales, and customers.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, from Executive Leadership to scrum and project teams
  • Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to develop and deliver internal and external release documentation and training materials on key functional aspects of products
  • Conduct product acceptance testing protocol for the development organization you work with to ensure highest quality and customer experience 

Experience and Knowledge:

    • B.S. or B.A in Business, Software Engineering, or related discipline 
    • Minimum 5+ years experience working as a scrum Business Analyst or Product Owner gathering requirements and writing detailed user stories.
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable  
    • Scrum or Business Analyst Certification preferred 
    • Experience working in an agile, iterative-based development environment using Scrum
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
    • Strong teamwork, organization, and problem resolution skills  
    • Self-starter with proven ability to deliver results with minimal assistance is a must
    • Basic data querying and exploration skills (Excel, SQL, Tableau etc.) with working knowledge of databases and ETL processes
      • The pay range for this position is between $113,000 and $138,000 plus Incentive Bonus. Starting salary may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
