Position Overview  

 As a Sr Business Analyst, you will engage with our Product Management and Development Teams in a highly collaborative manner.  Your work will be in the IT product development space, proposing solutions, creating better services and capabilities for our customers and for their customers in turn. You’ll also provide business and technology SME expertise and serve as the bridge between the business and the technology. 

 

 Role & Responsibilities  

  • Collaborate between Product Management and Development teams 
  • Requirements elicitation: Apply different techniques to facilitate meetings and workshops, create a shared understanding with stakeholders 
  • Requirements analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to decompose large epics into user stories that can be understood, estimated, developed, and tested by members of the development team. 
  • Gather and define functional and non-functional requirements 
  • Create user stories, acceptance criteria and supporting artifacts (context diagrams, mockups, etc.)  
  • Assist product management with prioritization and backlog grooming. 
  • Participate in and facilitate relevant Agile ceremonies and rituals: Backlog Refinement, Daily Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review/Demo, Retrospective 
  • Contribute to product & release documentation 
  • Build trust and respect, establish relationships, and develop rapport with technical and non-technical team members 
  • Proactively support the uplift of Agile practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement 

 Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field 
  • 5 years relevant business analyst experience in a similar role 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced Agile environment and participating in all Agile / Scrum ceremonies 
  • Must have hands on experience with Point of Sale solutions
  • Excellent English written and verbal skills 

  Preferred skills 

  • Prior experience with POS Systems and Retail Solutions 
  • Experience with Jira or Confluence 
  • Retail experience with head office functions – Product Management, Merchandizing, Purchasing, Allocation and Replenishment, Inventory Control, Pricing, Invoice Matching
