About the Role: Apptimize constantly gets compliments and recognition for our insights and expertise in our blog, case studies, white papers, and other content. Apptimize is looking for a hungry and ambitious content marketing manager to join our growing team to develop our content marketing strategy to bring the right content to the right audience at the right time. You will maintain expertise in the constantly changing arenas of mobile apps / technologies, the newest growth hacking concepts, and optimization / experimentation analytics. You have a natural curiosity for these areas and will consume material voraciously while connecting with the top thought leaders in the space. This role is critical to the growth of customer awareness, our brand, leads, sales pipeline, and company-wide revenue goals.

Not only does this person need to be a phenomenal copywriter, he/she also needs to have an eye for design, be able to develop a clear understanding of our target customer, and transform complex engineering into the language our customers use (note that this is sometimes plain layman speak and sometimes a different set of complex technical jargon). Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this person needs to collaborate with other marketing functions (lead gen, product marketing, etc.) as well as the sales and product teams.

Communication and prioritization skills are extremely important in this role since new features are developed every day and the communication of these new features to the customer needs to coordinated in a digestible way. Additional Information: Responsibilities

  • Develop the content marketing strategy with input from senior leadership
  • Work with lead gen, PR, and product teams to plan the editorial calendar
  • Manage social media channels as a distribution channel for owned content as well as developing Apptimize's voice and thought leadership in industry trends
  • Produce written content in short and long form (e.g. blog posts, emails, white papers, case studies, etc.) for all stages of the marketing/sales pipeline
  • Work with team members, contractors, and/or agencies to manage content creation as needed
  • Ensure that all content created is optimized for SEO
  • Develop Content for Product Messaging and GTM launches
  • Collect & compile feedback from the sales meetings. What's resonating? What questions keep coming up? Some of these will need to be addressed with better materials, others with adjustments to product features or pricing
  • Work with team members, contractors, and/or agencies to manage content creation as needed
  • Create content for partner/influencer content programs (ie Medium, Forbes, TechCrunch, etc.)
  • Market research. Always know and have an opinion on new technology, which constantly happens in our space
  • Performs competitive site reviews and audits that benchmark content breadth, organization and presentation
  • Develops and refines content dept. process and workflows to improve efficiency and quality

Experience

  • 4+ years of marketing experience
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to strategize and execute
  • Experience with target persona and customer journey development
  • Content management tools (Wordpress)
  • InDesign/Photoshop experience
  • CSS/HTML experience a plus
  • Hands-on approach; you dig into problems and use data and creativity to solve them
  • Love of new technology
  • Ability to work on a small team handling both strategy and execution plus wearing multiple hats when needed
  • Master multi-tasker with A+ project management chops
  • 3+ years experience managing contractors/vendors
  • Desire to constantly learn and improve
  • Creative thinker, problem solver and standout idea generator
  • Working knowledge of marketing platforms such as Google Analytics and Pardot a plus
  • Background in Data Science, Behavioral Science, AB Testing and/or Mobile Apps a plus
