Who Is AppSumo:

AppSumo was started in 2011 by serial online entrepreneur Noah Kagan. The idea was simple: the tools you need to run your business shouldn’t put you out of business. Today, the AppSumo team is home to some of the best talent from Facebook, Microsoft, Bloomberg, to name a few. We’re always looking for the best and brightest to join our team.

To date, we’ve partnered with over 1,000 startups to bring our community the absolute best deals on software. These startups have gone on to become household names in software, we’re talking companies like Evernote, Dropbox, and Mailchimp. With hundreds of successful product launches and over a million entrepreneurs served, we’re looking to take AppSumo to the next level.

That’s where you, the Product Manager comes in.

About the Role:

At AppSumo, we put our 1 million+ users first. The world is always changing so we need Product Managers who are continuously excited to work on products and features that impact millions of entrepreneurs every day.

In this role, you will guide AppSumo’s roadmap and features, from conception to launch, by connecting the technical and business worlds. You will work to break down complex problems into steps that drive product development at AppSumo.

AppSumo is able to consistently bring innovative, world-changing products to market largely because of the collaborative work we do in product management. Our team works closely with creative and prolific engineers, designers, and marketers to develop technologies that improve access to the world's best software for entrepreneurs. We help startups launch - from positioning to packaging to promoting and tailoring solutions to our user base.

We’re aiming to build a platform that promotes the world's best tools all in one place and makes them universally accessible. As a Product Manager at AppSumo, you’ll be working on new technologies, platform updates, consumer facing products, ideation and/or product strategy.

Our ideal candidate has 3-5 years of technical product management experience. Familiarity with software languages including JavaScript, React, Python, and Django are a huge plus - but we are also happy to train the right candidate.

In your first six months, success in this role means you have met with internal and external stakeholders and planned out the AppSumo product roadmap for the next year.

Why You’ll Love It:

If you’re excited by the prospect of working with a talented and cross functional team, developing and prioritizing key features, and forging meaningful relationships with your teammates and with customers and partners , then this role is for you. We need someone who’s eager to listen to our stakeholders, prioritize needs, and execute on building new technologies.

Why You May Not Like It:

This role is technical-first—if you’re intimidated by technology, need a lot of direction, or are risk-averse, this role may not be for you.

Pay & Benefits:

We provide a competitive compensation package. In addition, we offer paid lunches every day, a stocked fridge, any snacks you want, and two all-expenses paid company trips with the team. (You can check them out here.) You’ll be equipped with a brand-new computer, monitor, standing desk and any other gear you need to feel productive. Not to mention, we also have in-office massages weekly. Oh, and you can bring your dog to work. We love your dog :)

At AppSumo, we don’t believe in benchwarmers or clockwatchers: we treat all of our teammates like adults and trust that when you have something to do, you’ll get it done. If you need to run an errand, hit the gym, or meet a friend for lunch you’re encouraged to do so. You can work from home as often as you need to, and you’ll have unlimited vacation days to go on adventures. (Everyone says it, but we mean it: Take as much time as you want.)

We’re committed to creating a diverse, supportive, and collaborative working environment - every person we bring onto the team helps cultivate a culture that we’re proud of.

Feeling up to the task? Let’s do this :)
