Who is AppSumo
AppSumo was started in 2011 by serial online entrepreneur Noah Kagan. The idea was simple: the tools you need to run your business shouldn’t put you out of business. Today, the AppSumo team is home to some of the best talent from Facebook, Microsoft, Bloomberg, to name a few. We’re always looking for the best and brightest to join our team.
To date, we’ve partnered with over 1,000 startups to bring our community the absolute best deals on software. These startups have gone on to become household names in software, we’re talking companies like Evernote, Dropbox, and Mailchimp. With hundreds of successful product launches and over a million entrepreneurs served, we’re looking to take AppSumo to the next level.
That’s where you, the Partner Success Manager comes in.
About This Role
This job is about managing post-sales operations for 6-figure partnerships. The Partner Success Manager will manage every step of the onboarding and setup process while serving as our partners’ main point of contact.
If you’re organized, self motivated, and know how to hustle and get things done, then this role is for you. It’s designed for someone that is excited about learning from tech startup founders and being at the cutting edge of new trends in tech.
You’ll be working alongside our Business Development and Marketing teams. On the day to day, you’ll be managing every step of our partners’ onboarding and setup process. You’ll be using project management software and tools like Salesflare and Meistertask. In the first three months of this role, success means developing a solid partner management strategy and successfully coaching a partner from contract signed to product launched on AppSumo. In the first year, your goal would be to coach partners through launches and continue to nurture long term relationships.
A day in the life of the Partner Success Manager includes setting up workflows, keeping partners up-to-date with their launch and scheduling, and acting as a liaison between the AppSumo support and BD teams. You’ll also be working directly with SaaS founders and CEOs to get their team ready for an epic launch on the AppSumo platform.
This is a unique role that requires multitasking, attention to detail, time management, and strong communication skills. At a minimum, you should have at least 1 year of experience in Partner Success, Account Management, Recruitment, or Project Management in the SaaS space. Ideally, you have experience building onboarding and/or account management systems and processes.
Why You’ll Love it
You’ll be working directly with CEOs and software company leaders and training them on what it takes to succeed. If you’re a metrics driven over-achiever who loves to deliver results, you’re going to crush this.
You enjoy building relationships and finding new ways to make outreach more efficient. If you look at our current onboarding process, you'll be itching to dive in and start making improvements to it. You are someone who is eager to get in on the ground floor of a growing department and help it scale.
Why You May Not Like It
You’ll be our partners’ point of contact throughout each campaign. Following up and keeping partners in check should come second nature to you. If you’re not comfortable interacting directly with clients while providing a white glove level of customer service, this role may not be for you.
Pay & Benefits
We provide a competitive compensation package. In addition, we offer paid lunches every day, a stocked fridge, any snacks you want, and two all-expenses paid company trips with the team. (You can check them out here.) You’ll be equipped with a brand-new computer, monitor, standing desk and any other gear you need to feel productive. Not to mention, we also have in-office massages weekly. Oh, and you can bring your dog to work. We love your dog :)
At AppSumo, we don’t believe in benchwarmers or clockwatchers: we treat all of our teammates like adults and trust that when you have something to do, you’ll get it done. If you need to run an errand, hit the gym, or meet a friend for lunch you’re encouraged to do so. You can work from home as often as you need to, and you’ll have unlimited vacation days to go on adventures. (Everyone says it, but we mean it: Take as much time as you want.)
We’re committed to creating a diverse, supportive, and collaborative working environment - every person we bring onto the team helps cultivate a culture that we’re proud of.
Feeling up to the task? Let’s do this :)
