About the Role

You will be part of the first engineering hires. You will have the opportunity to help shape Renterra's engineering culture, process, technology and product!  Some of the things you will be doing include:

  • Reporting directly to the CTO
  • Working daily on greenfield projects
  • Managing the full lifecycle of your work, including architecture, solution design, code, deployment, delivery and ongoing support
  • Communicating regularly with our fully remote team via Slack, Zoom and GitHub
  • Working from the idea of our initial tech stack across the frontend and backend. Currently this includes Figma, Next.js and PlanetScale. 

About You

Role Requirements

You meet at least half of these requirements:

  • 5 years experience as a Software Engineer working with systems in production
  • Experience designing and implementing systems from the ground up
  • Familiarity with serverless architectures (e.g. Next.js or AWS Lambda)
  • Expertise with REST API design and development
  • Deep understanding of healthy engineering processes (like code review and testing)
  • Excellent communication and technical leadership skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in, or desire to work in, an early stage startup environment
  • Working knowledge of React, Next.js or Typescript applications in production
  • Experience working closely with a designer
