We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. (Note: this is not applicable for EpiSci roles).
About the role
As a Senior Security Engineer on the Security & Authentication team, you play a key role in building a secure platform for autonomy development. You are responsible for designing and integrating authentication, identity and access management, and cloud security best practices into our infrastructure. You create tools and standards that empower engineers to strengthen the security posture of our platform. You will also collaborate directly with customers to support their security requirements.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
- Design and implement security standards and tools across major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) as well as on-prem and air-gapped environments
- Implement and monitor security measures to protect internal and external systems, networks, and data
- Build product features that help our customers manage access and usage of Applied Intuition products
- Develop and implement processes that are in compliance with legal and ethical standards and ensure that our customer data is protected and secured
- Take ownership over technical decisions, interact closely with users and customers to collect feedback, and contribute to a thoughtful, dynamic team culture
We're looking for someone who has:
- A Bachelor's or above degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in software development in the security domain
- 3+ years of experience securing complex backend systems on at least one major cloud provider
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure including networking, access control, IaaS, and SIEM tools
- Strong understanding of modern secure software development best practices, application security, infrastructure security, and data protection
- Ability to clearly communicate ideas and proactively collaborate with others on problem-solving
Nice to have:
- Proficiency in security best practices for javascript, python, golang and C++ development
- Experience implementing Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or other relevant certifications
- Proficient working with 2+ cloud providers. E.g. AWS, GCP, Azure, and on-prem environments
- Experience with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
- Direct experience working with customers and securing enterprise software.
Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.
Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.
Please reference the job posting’s subtitle for where this position will be located. For pay transparency purposes, the base salary range for this full-time position in the location listed is: $125,000 - $222,000 USD annually.
