Appian is actively seeking a Sr. Industry Marketing Manager to drive go-to-market efforts and integrated planning for our Public Sector industry. We are looking for a creative and passionate individual who has a proven track record of successful marketing in this industry vertical, along with familiarity with content creation, messaging strategy, and balancing an ecosystem of partners in a dynamic environment. Our ideal candidate will have familiarity with Public Sector marketing, including Defense, Federal Civilian, and/or State & Local Government, and possess a strong understanding of the technology ecosystem in which we go to market, including business process automation, low-code application development, and case management.
*Targeting candidates in the DMV area who are comfortable coming into the office on a flexible, hybrid schedule (2+ days a week).
To be successful in this role, you need:
A proven track record of development and execution of an integrated marketing plan which drives an impact across the business.
The ability to produce creative, memorable, high-impact marketing content in support of industry sub-verticals, and product/solution launches and related initiatives.
To anchor on industry messaging and positioning, being able to create crisp and compelling stories to capture the imagination of your target audience.
To collaborate across critical departments to drive stakeholder buy-in, act on real-time feedback and optimize the execution of an always-on marketing plan.

Basic and preferred qualifications:
BA/BS degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive industry marketing experience in high-tech, high-growth, preferably Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environments; Public Sector experience strongly preferred
Experience with related technologies, including business process management (BPM), robotic process automation (RPA), artificial intelligence (AI), case management, CRM, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
