Technical support is a critical part of Appian's commitment to our customers and partners. We are looking for a hands-on engineer with excellent analytical and communication skills. Appian's Solution Engineering department is responsible for a wide variety of areas of responsibility and an engineer that is eager to be involved in many different areas of responsibility is desired. We provide support for our on-premise customers and as well as our cloud customers.
This role is at Appian HQ in Reston, VA now. Appian's HQ will move to Tysons Corner, VA in summer 2019.
Technical support (phone, email, case management) to Appian customers in a timely and precise manner.
Production support of Appian Cloud.
Perform root cause analysis and follow-through on resolving the root cause.
Deliver informal mentorship to our customers.
Draft documentation and best practices.
Provide training and mentorship to other engineers
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering or similar.
Should be excellent at problem solving, have a talent for identifying creative solutions and skilled at providing exceptional customer service (verbal/written).
Extreme attention to detail.
Excellent spoken and written communication.
Experience with Java application server platforms including at least one of JBoss, WebLogic or WebSphere.
Experience with RDBMS platforms including at least one of MySql, Oracle or SQL Server.
Experience with Linux and Windows
Experience with Web Servers
Server architecture experience dealing with high availability environments
