Job Purpose and Overview:

With over 200 applications available in Atlassian, Monday and Microsoft marketplaces, Appfire has some unique challenges related to scale. Our customers - rightfully - expect our applications to be always available, performing well, secure, as well as being frequently updated with new features. On the other hand, developers in Appfire don’t want to repeat the same actions multiple times. They want technology that allows them to focus on solving customers’ problems, with easy-to-use infrastructure, services and libraries for solving their common problems, and tooling offering them best-in-class developer experience.

What you will do

  • Join a self-organizing, cross-functional platform team and cooperate closely with other Software Engineers, Engineering Manager, Team Leader, and Support Engineers;
  • Follow the best engineering practices: SOLID principals, clean coding, automated testing, code reviews, pair programming, YBIYRI (you built it you run it);
  • Share your thoughts openly and honestly on what would be the best for the customers and the business: you will be part of discussions about the future of our products and Appfire;
  • Decide freely about your day and assignments - we do not micromanage people and we do care about work & life balance;
  • Be the change you seek - if you see that something can be improved, suggest how and make it happen (alone or by engaging your colleagues).

What we would like to see

  • Proven record (3+ years) of delivery of multiple complex software development projects.
  • Hands-on experience with any back-end web technologies frameworks based on Java, Node, Python (Spring, SpringBoot, Express etc). You do not have to be master in each, but you should be comfortable learning and working with any of them;
  • Architectural understanding of web applications, including performance, quality and security aspects;
  • Inclination towards System design and Infrastructure.
  • Nice to have understanding of modern Cloud architectures like AWS, GCP or Azure;
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, Terraform, Pulumi etc) is a plus.
  • Truly engineering approach to solving problems. Good theoretical foundations of computer science (e.g. algorithms and computational complexity, OOP) are super practical in the ever-changing landscape of technologies;
  • Good communication skills.
