Job Purpose and Overview

With over 200 applications available in Atlassian, Monday, and Microsoft marketplaces, Appfire has some unique challenges related to scale. Our customers - rightfully - expect our applications to be always available, performing well, secure, as well as being frequently updated with new features. On the other hand, developers in Appfire don’t want to repeat the same actions multiple times. They want technology that allows them to focus on solving customers’ problems, with easy-to-use infrastructure, services, and libraries for solving their common problems, and tooling offering them best-in-class developer experience.

In Appfire we intend to build (yes, code) solutions to these problems. Excited about solving problems at scale? Join us and you may work on one of the following:

  • Infrastructure for 200+ applications
  • Services solving common problems of 50 teams
  • Tools helping with developer experiences, such as debuggers, emulators, and testing automation

What you will do

  • Join a self-organizing, cross-functional product team and cooperate closely with other Software Engineers, UX designers, Product Managers, Team Leaders, and other specialists like Product marketers or Support Engineers.
  • Follow the best engineering practices: automated testing, code reviews, pair programming, and YBIYRI (you built it you run it).
  • Share your thoughts openly and honestly on what would be the best for the customers and the business: you will be part of discussions about the future of our products and Appfire.
  • Decide freely about your day and assignments - we do not micromanage people and we do care about work & life balance.
  • Be the change you seek - if you see that something can be improved, suggest how and make it happen (alone or by engaging your colleagues).

What we would like to see

  • Proven record (3+ years) of delivery of multiple complex software development projects.
  • Hands-on experience with back-end web technologies considering Java, (Python nice to have), frameworks: Spring, SpringBoot. You do not have to be a master in each, but you should be comfortable learning and working with any of them.
  • Willingness to learn and use multiple technologies. Whereas we appreciate breadth, we value depth even more!
  • Truly engineering approach to solving problems. Good theoretical foundations of computer science (e.g. algorithms and computational complexity, OOP) are super practical in the ever-changing landscape of technologies.
  • Nice to have an understanding of modern Cloud architectures, and practical experience implementing them in either AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Architectural understanding of web applications, including performance, quality, and security aspects.
  • Command of English at level B2 or higher.

As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
