What is the point of this role?
You will act as the point of people expertise for your business area and be the local people expert implementing specific people approaches alongside the wider People team. You will work closely with business leaders and managers to support building their people capability, plus plan and manage talent and develop approaches that achieve shared organisational objectives as set by the leadership team.
What will I be doing?
- Works closely with business areas and supports to implement the business strategy from a people perspective including involvement in embedding company wide people initiatives as well as business unit specific initiatives.
- Utilise the MI and data to drive decision making across the business areas through a monthly dashboard and key People KPI’s.
- Works closely in line with ANS policy and helps to improve policy based on business requirements, legal requirements and best practice.
- Coach and provide guidance to management team on people related matters.
- Owns and manages all employee relations for their business unit
- Involvement in employee engagement monitoring and action planning including feedback sources such as regular surveys, manager / team input and leaver feedback
- Monitors and identifies current and future talents ensuring collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team and Learning & Development Team to create robust talent management and retention plans.
- Provides guidance on business structure and changes that provide efficiencies.
- Supports the implementation and management of succession planning.
- Works with the business to embed the values and culture.
- Involvement in any ad hoc people related activity, admin or tasks
- Provides technical HR knowledge and guidance to support the People operational team.
- Actively identifying problems and areas of improvement followed by managing and owning the execution of the solution.

- Strong employee relations and legislation knowledge
What is needed to do the role?
- CIPD Level 5 and above is essential.
