Perform a variety of duties in the Rehabilitation Therapy Unit and perform rehabilitation treatments
Qualifications
NYS Veterinary Technician’s license (or permit)
Ability to handle and restrain all species of animal
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must be able to bend or kneel for extended periods of time while helping with patient restraint and not mind getting wet
Must be able to work successfully as part of a team
Must also be able work independently and proactively
Have ability to follow detailed directions and established protocols
Basic computer skills a must
Ability to correctly complete large amount of paperwork is necessary
Must have flexibility necessary to work weekends, holidays and additional hours as needed
CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner) or CCRA (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Assistant) is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
Rehabilitation treatments including exercising, massage, hot/cold packing, tub/treadmill treatments, ultrasound, hot/cold therapy, laser treatments and acupuncture
Assess patients on discharge
Communicate professionally with clients and referral veterinarians regarding the patient’s rehabilitation progress
Maintain concise and accurate records of the patient’s treatment progress and charges
Assist in planning, performing and tailoring rehabilitation treatments according to patient’s needs
Maintain the cleanliness of Rehabilitation Department
Order and stock supplies as necessary
All other related duties as assigned
