Job Description:

Provide leadership, delivery, and design experience to a software development team to work together to build the company’s technology. Lead and mentor an innovative team of software development engineers. Help establish a diverse and inclusive organization based upon safety and contribution and support other managers and their teams. Foster a positive, supportive, and a lively work environment while providing opportunity for team members to tackle new roles and take on new responsibilities. Deliver products that help service professionals do the work they love and that help homeowners save time. Own the team’s code and results beyond their deployment and own the ins and outs of a system that is constantly growing and evolving. Ensure the quality of the company’s products and the business continuity of its systems. Build amazing software, systems, and people. Partner with Product, QA and UX counterparts to deliver excellence and continuously evaluate the best way to deliver short-term and long-term solutions.

 Job Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related, or its foreign equivalent, plus eight (8) years of hands-on experience writing professional software code at an internet, consumer-focused, or marketplace business.
  2. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and eight (8) years of experience, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related, or its foreign equivalent, plus five (5) years of hands-on experience writing professional software code at an internet, consumer-focused, or marketplace business.
  3. Additional experience must include:
    • At least one object-oriented programming language.
    • SQL relational databases.
    • Linux, Mac, or Windows operating systems.
    • Programming data structures and algorithms.
    • Writing efficient code without straining computer processing time and memory based on volume and performance requirements.
    • Technical architecture design.
    • Enterprise cloud microservices architecture.
    • Highly scalable search indexes such as ElasticSearch or OpenSearch.
    • Serving in a lead or management role.
  4. Telecommuting is available for this position.
  5. Must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
