
Deputy Chief of Staff to the Chief Strategy Officer

The Deputy Chief of Staff to the Chief Strategy Officer will be responsible for the daily operations of the Office, enabling seamless coordination and communication across the executive team and with external stakeholders. This individual will undertake a dynamic range of responsibilities, combining the strategic oversight of a deputy chief of staff with the meticulous execution of executive assistant tasks. The position supports one of the foremost thinkers in defense innovation, and is an opportunity to learn about defense tech, growth, and strategy on a daily basis.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Provide comprehensive support to the President and Chief Strategy Officer, ensuring efficient management of his schedule, including planning and coordinating meetings, conferences, and travel arrangements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on all logistics, scheduling, and protocol matters pertaining to the Office of the President.
- Manage and prioritize a complex and dynamic calendar of appointments; exercise discretion in the resolution of calendar conflicts.
- Prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations, and other documents on behalf of the President and Chief Strategy Officer.
- Handle confidential and non-routine information with the utmost discretion and tact.
- Facilitate the preparation for and follow-up on meetings, including but not limited to creating agendas, taking minutes, and tracking action items.
- Coordinate logistics for high-level internal and external events, including catering, venue selection, and participant management.
- Assist with the execution of special projects, conducting research, and compiling data as necessary.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure that the President's office is running smoothly and efficiently.
- Manage incoming communications, including phone calls, emails, and mail; direct inquiries to the appropriate parties and follow up to ensure resolution.
- Maintain electronic and paper records, ensuring information is organized and easily accessible.
- Assist in the tracking and reporting of strategic initiatives and milestones.
- Contribute to team effort by performing related management and administrative tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to jump into a variety of problem-solving efforts.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably within the Department of Defense or government sector, or within aerospace and defense practices at investment banks or consulting firms.
- Educational background from a top tier educational institution.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to effectively engage with high-level executives and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Ability to identify and present potential courses of actions for quick decision.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
US Salary Range
$84,000 - $135,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
